Makhos is a first of a kind training and consulting company specifically designed to support Indigenous community members gain meaningful and sustainable employment within the power sectors of Ontario. Our innovative program, Bridge the Gap, offers training to Indigenous candidates as well as power sector employers to ensure both Nations gain an understanding of the other to truly Bridge Gaps in a permanent fashion. Our program understands the Bridge has two sides, or Nations, and education is required on both sides to complete the Bridge.
Makhos sources prospective candidates working closely with community organizations, colleges, training programs and other critical connections. Following an assessment of an individual, bridging plans are created while placement opportunities are researched in parallel. Personnel are then placed with an employer. Follow-up communication and tracking of the individual’s progress is ongoing. This critical element, ensures the bridge remains intact and support is available by determining any existing gaps and developing a plan for the spanning of them effectively and efficiently.
